Paper Firms Get Federal Subpoenas: Five companies that sell toilet tissue and paper towels to schools, hospitals and other institutions said they have received subpoenas seeking documents in connection with a U.S. Department of Justice antitrust inquiry that began in 1994 into the commercial tissue products industry. A spokesman at James River Corp., based in Richmond, Va., confirmed that his company received a subpoena and is cooperating, but would not comment further. Georgia-Pacific Corp, based in Atlanta, said it would also comply and the documents are to be delivered to the grand jury by June or July. Green Bay, Wis.-based Fort Howard Corp., Richmond-based Chesapeake Corp. and Dallas-based Kimberly-Clark Corp. are cooperating too, representatives at those companies said.
