Cey Seals Pact With Minnesota

Former El Camino Real shortstop Dan Cey, the first area player taken in the amateur baseball draft earlier this month, has signed with the Minnesota Twins and will begin his professional career with Fort Wayne, Ind., of the Class-A Midwest League.

Cey, 20, son of former Dodger Ron Cey, was a third-round selection after completing his junior season at Cal.

Volleyball

Alemany High outside hitter Jolene Small has committed to Cal State Los Angeles. The 5-foot-11 Small was an All-Mission League selection last season.
