Too Silent
June came and went, and the Oxnard Library attracted only a handful of bids in its first silent celebrity auction. “And they weren’t terribly spectacular,” says organizer Dan Golden. . . . So if you want a crack at an autographed Mary Steenburgen photo or a “Stand and Deliver” script signed by Edward James Olmos, the library has extended the deadline to July 30. . . . The $400 in bids so far is far short of the $2,000 goal, “but certainly any amount helps,” Golden says.
