Judge Nullifies Litton Award: Five months after a federal jury ordered Honeywell Inc. to pay $234 million to Litton Industries Inc. for antitrust violations, the judge overseeing the case negated the award and ordered a new trial to determine the damages. U.S. District Judge Mariana Pfaelzer in Los Angeles ruled that Litton’s model for helping the jury determine damages was flawed. But she did uphold the jury’s verdict that Honeywell monopolized the market for a gyroscope used in guiding jetliners, in violation of antitrust laws. In a companion suit, Litton is waging a billion-dollar fight against Honeywell for patent infringement.
