Temps Will Hover Near Century Mark

Hot, sunny weather will continue in the San Fernando Valley this week, with a good chance that temperatures will break 100 degrees, meteorologists said Sunday.
Highs are expected to be in the mid-90s to 102 all week, said Bill Hoffer, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service.
The sunny days will be sandwiched between early-morning and late-night fog. Lows will be in the mid-60s but might remain above 70 degrees on some nights.
The mugginess that made temperatures seem even higher last week was caused by a tropical surge in moisture that made its way north from the Gulf of California, according to Rob Krohn, also of the National Weather Service. He said the flow from the gulf started to abate on Sunday and would affect the area less as the week progressed.
