A fire burned about five acres in the Los Padres National Forest north of Ojai Thursday, authorities said.
The fire started on private property about noon in Sisar Canyon north of the Summit School, on California 150 between Ojai and Santa Paula, said Forest Service spokeswoman Kathy Good, adding that it soon spread to Forest Service land.
Personnel from the Forest Service, Ventura County Fire Department and the California Department of Forestry battled the blaze, which was extinguished in about five hours, Good said.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
