The Santa Ana Zoo is seeking residents interested in becoming docents and volunteering in the zoo’s newest exhibition, the Amazon Aviary.
Docent training begins Monday and lasts for five weeks, until Oct. 30. Training will consist of 10 three-hour sessions at which the volunteers will learn how to give zoo tours and handle the animals.
Though the training is free, docents pay $70 for uniforms and dues, which include a year of free admission to the zoo.
Information: (714) 836-4000.
