Fall Festival to Raise Funds for School

Officials at St. Bridget of Sweden School hope this weekend’s Fall Festival enables them to send students into cyberspace.
Ethnic food, rides, games and auctions are all planned for the festival, which annually generates money for supplies and educational programs. Tuition fees and fund-raisers are the school’s only source of income.
Festival organizer John Butcher said the money will be distributed to several areas of need, but linking classroom computers to the Internet is the top priority.
“We’ve had a computer room, but this way we can spread the wealth around and actually have classrooms with computers,” Butcher said.
Beginning Friday at 6 p.m., festival-goers can bid on gift baskets, dinners at area restaurants, Disneyland tickets or Dodger tickets. The festival runs Friday 6 to 11 p.m., Saturday noon to 11 p.m. and Sunday noon to 10 p.m.
The school is at 7120 Whitaker St., near Sherman Way.
