Santa Paula 20, Paraclete 18--Dominic Washington rushed for 244 yards in 28 carries, but Paraclete (2-3) came up short against Santa Paula (3-2).

Cardinal running back Aaron Pettitt’s five-yard run early in the first quarter accounted for all of the scoring in the first half, but Paraclete scored twice in the first four minutes of the third quarter as junior quarterback Rich Caton threw a 25-yard scoring pass to Sean Fraser and wide receiver Justin Kolesar returned a punt 35 yards for a score to give Paraclete a 12-8 lead.

Cardinal quarterback Willie Zavala (eight of 16 passes for 94 yards) hit receiver Robert Ramirez for an eight-yard touchdown pass and Pettitt (13 carries for 61 yards) scored his second touchdown from two yards out early in the fourth quarter to put Santa Paula ahead.
