Hansell’s Masterful Game Helps Mustangs Beat Biola

Elizabeth Hansell had 21 points and 13 rebounds for The Master’s College in a 74-62 women’s basketball victory over Biola on Friday night at La Mirada.
Kim De Vries added 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Laura Fralich had 12 points, seven assists, six rebounds and four steals.
Shari Andreasen had 12 points for Biola (0-6).
Merced 86, Valley 66--Shawanda Hotchkiss scored 22 points but the Monarchs (4-3) fell in the Sequoias tournament.
Valley (4-3) faded after trailing, 58-56, with nine minutes left.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Santa Monica 82, Moorpark 73--Ben Tryk scored 24 points for the Raiders (6-3) in a consolation game of the Antelope Valley tournament.
Antelope Valley 84, Canyons 83--Bronson Pitts hit a three-point basket with two seconds to play to lift the Marauders in an Antelope Valley tournament semifinal.
Jonathan George led Antelope Valley (8-2) with 24 points and 12 rebounds.
Kevin King scored 20 points for the Cougars (1-5).
Biola 92, The Master’s 79--Mike Penberthy scored a game-high 32 points, but the visiting Mustangs (4-3) got only two points from its reserves.
Penberthy made eight of 14 three-point attempts. Teammate Leo Gorauskas added 20 points.
Valley 84, Desert 64--Pierre Elize scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Monarchs to the final of the Las Vegas tournament.
Oke Ogoke added 16 points and Tyreese Basey 14 for Valley (7-1).
