Party for Younger Set on Dec. 31

The Newport Beach Community Youth Center is hosting a New Year’s Eve “sleepover” for children 5 to 12 years old.
Youngsters will spend the evening watching movies, eating popcorn and playing games. Organizers said the event allows parents to spend the evening out knowing that their children are in a supervised environment.
Children will be allowed to stay up until midnight.
Parents are required to drop their children off by 7:30 p.m. New Year’s Eve and pick them up by 8:30 a.m. New Year’s Day. Cost is $35 per child and $17.50 for additional siblings.
The event is sponsored by the Newport Beach Community Services Department and hosted by Kids Can Do Gymnastics.
The center is at 5th and Iris avenues in Corona del Mar.
