Marshall Students Help Seniors Decorate
More than 20 John Marshall Elementary School students helped seniors at Emerald Court Retirement Apartments decorate their Christmas trees this year.
The students, who are in the school’s Peer Assistant Leaders program, spend one afternoon a month doing craft projects with the Emerald Court seniors. In November, they made ornaments for the tree, which they hung on its branches a few weeks later.
About 60 fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders are peer assistant leaders and also take turns as playground conflict managers and as new student greeters.
