Crows Review Doesn’t Fly

I was at the Counting Crows concert that Robert Hilburn trashed, using the power of his position (“Counting Woes,” Dec. 19). If he is seeking a consistent beat with predictable words, perhaps he should listen to programmed music that reeks from restaurants and retail stores.
To fully enjoy the Counting Crows, you must read the words to the songs on the new CD “Recovering the Satellites,” like these from “Catapult::
All of these quiet battered voices
Wait for the hunger to come
We got little revolvers and stupid choices
And no one to say when we’re done
Second, you must listen to the music that accompanies the words. Finally, you must remove your geeky sport coat, go to the bar and get a drink--better yet, go on vacation!
