Forward Dimitri Khristich was named injured teammate Rob Blake’s replacement for Saturday’s all-star game in San Jose. Blake, who has been sideline with a broken right hand since Dec. 26, had hoped to play with a fitted cast but now will not return until after the all-star break.
For Khristich, who scored his fourth goal in his last three games Tuesday night in the Kings’ 3-3 tie at Detroit, it will be his first all-star appearance in seven seasons in the NHL.

Kevin Stevens’ goal against the Red Wings stretched his goal-scoring streak to four games.
“It feels pretty good right now, but the important part is that we are 3-0-1 in those games,” said Stevens, who has played well since being named captain in place of Blake. “I’m starting to feel good on the ice again. I’m feeling strong out there. . . . It’s a combination of a lot of things.”

Defenseman Doug Zmolek received a 10-minute misconduct penalty for pummeling Detroit’s Tim Taylor in the second period. Zmolek, who retaliated after a check to the head by Taylor, did not return to the game because of a bruised right hand.
