Loss Helped to Wake Up Concordia

Concordia women’s basketball Coach Dave Wolter said the seeds for the Eagles’ 78-71 victory at Fresno Pacific on Tuesday were sown during a disappointing loss last week.
Concordia’s 67-50 loss to lightly regarded Holy Names drove home a point that Wolter had been making to his players. “I felt we weren’t playing together,” he said. “That game served as a very effective wake-up call. I think our team showed a lot of maturity against Fresno.
“We had a great week of practice and I think we went into the game with a lot of confidence.”
Audre Moss had an especially strong game, scoring 21 points on eight-for-10 shooting, and pulling down 10 rebounds.
It was only the second time Concordia (12-5, 1-0) had won at Fresno (9-7, 0-1). Today, Concordia is at Azusa Pacific, which has lost four in a row, including a 68-53 defeat Tuesday to Southern California College.
