Platinum Software Corp.

The Irvine financial software company reported a net loss of $527,000, or 3 cents a share, for the second fiscal quarter. That compares with a net loss of $11 million, or 82 cents a share, for the comparable period last year, which included a $5.6-million restructuring charge. Revenue for the quarter ended Dec. 31 rose 25% to $12.7 million from $10.2 million. The first-half net loss narrowed to $2.6 million, or 14 cents a share, from $15.4 million, or $1.13 a share, a year ago. Revenue advanced 3% to $23.5 million from $22.8 million.
