Recall Campaign Doesn’t Make Sense

I find it most interesting that the reason for the recall against Elois Zeanah is because she will not vote to raise our sewer taxes by 70%. Why would residents in Thousand Oaks want to recall a council member who will not vote for an exorbitant rate increase, when residents in other cities recall officials because they do raise taxes and by lesser percentages?
Is it the blitz of money being thrown at this recall that has blinded residents who are signing, or are residents of Thousand Oaks different from residents in other cities who want their elected officials to spend their tax dollars as if public money were their own?
