Mario Ramirez of Oxnard, a retired supermarket produce manager, died Thursday in a local hospital after a brief illness. He was 65.
Ramirez was born Oct. 10, 1931, in Fullerton, and lived in Ventura County 33 years. He was a produce manager for Safeway stores for 36 years.
He is survived by his wife Erma; a son, Dennis of Oxnard; a daughter, Denise Reamer of Las Vegas; his mother, Rebecca Ramirez of San Diego; four sisters, Lupe Espinoza of Pico Rivera, Carmen Flores of San Diego, Rachael Lucero of San Diego and Rebecca Jones of Las Vegas, and a brother, Paul Valderrama of San Diego.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at James A. Reardon Mortuary, Oxnard. Rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the mortuary.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
Arrangements are under the direction of James A. Reardon Mortuary.
