Reseda Drops Grant, 2-0, in Fight-Marred Match

The Reseda High boys’ soccer team defeated Grant, 2-0, Wednesday in a Valley Pac-8 Conference match from which five players were ejected.
The Regents (11-1-1, 9-1 in conference play) scored in the 18th minute on a goal by Alex Acevedo and in the 71st minute on a goal by Marvin Quijano.
During a melee in the 64th minute, Reseda’s Rocky Monzon was ejected after striking Grant’s Jose Romero and Fernando Gomez was ejected for leaving the Grant bench.
Four minutes later, Grant’s Edwin Segovia was ejected for kicking a Reseda player.
In the final minute, Francisco Juarez of Grant (10-5-5, 3-3-5) and Acevedo were ejected after scuffling over a loose ball.
Simi Valley 1, Newbury Park 0--Ryan Meuse scored for the Pioneers (17-4-3, 7-2-2) in a Marmonte League match at Simi Valley. Newbury Park dropped to 13-5-1, 6-4.
Littlerock 6, Highland 1--Tim Cea scored three goals, giving him 24, to pace the Lobos (12-4-2, 5-1-1) in a Golden League match.
Moorpark 1, Calabasas 0--Hugo Ramirez scored to move the host Musketeers (14-5-1, 6-1) within half a game of the Frontier League-leading Coyotes (11-3-2, 7-1).
GIRLS
Alemany 2, Harvard-Westlake 1--Brenda Escobar scored with 10 minutes to play for the Indians (4-12-3, 1-5-1) in a Mission League match at Harvard-Westlake (11-4-1, 5-2).
Chaminade 2, Louisville 1--Kerrie Clavadetscher scored in the final minute of regulation and Lindsey Horn scored four minutes into overtime for the Eagles (16-2-3, 6-1) in a Mission League match at Louisville.
