Richardson Apologizes

Guard Pooh Richardson apologized to Coach Bill Fitch for critical comments he made after Tuesday night’s 116-112 victory over the Boston Celtics.
Richardson, who lost his starting job to Darrick Martin, said he feels restricted because Fitch harps on every mistake he makes.
“I absolutely owe Coach and the rest of the staff and my teammates an apology,” Richardson said. “That’s not the way I handle myself.”
Fitch declined to reveal whether he disciplined Richardson, saying, “It’s nobody’s business.”

The Clippers put center Stanley Roberts on the injured list because of a ruptured disk. Roberts, who has sat out 28 games, is scheduled to undergo surgery next week. Kevin Duckworth, who sat out 18 games because of a sore left foot, was activated.
“He should still be on the injured list and he probably won’t play any amount of time, but we’re really small,” Fitch said of Duckworth. “We might need a big man to take the ball out of bounds and I think he could do that.”
