Fenwick Names Two Assistants

Cal State Northridge football Coach Jim Fenwick has added offensive line coach Aron Gideon and defensive line coach Jim Hackett to his staff.

Gideon, who was offensive line coach at St. Mary’s last season, played at UCLA and spent two seasons as a graduate assistant with the Bruins. Hackett, a part-time assistant with the Matadors, spent the previous two seasons coaching at Eastern Arizona College. Prior to that, he spent three seasons at Northern Arizona.

Football signing: Northridge has signed receiver Mike Phillips (5 feet 11, 175 pounds) from San Leandro High. Phillips said he chose Northridge because it was the only school to offer him a scholarship.
