A staff report on guests at the 474-room Novotel New York hotel found that in general, men packed more luggage, used fewer towels, kept a cleaner room, ordered more adult movies and tipped better than wome. Some other differences:

Most popular room-service item (besides breakfast)
Men: burger
Women: club sandwich
Items most frequently left behind
Men: underwear, socks
Women: nightgowns, makeup
Locked themselves out of the room (out of 210 who did this in 1996)
Men: 40%
Women: 60%
