8 Die in Riot at Oaxaca Prison

OAXACA, Mexico — At least eight inmates died and 49 others were hurt Monday during a prison riot in this southern Mexican city, the state government said.
The inmates seized control of a section of the Santa Maria Ixcotel state prison and were negotiating with authorities, a government spokesman said.
All the dead and injured were inmates.
