Historian Panian Honored by DAR

Local historian and community activist Henry S. Panian has been honored by the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
He received the organization’s Award for Excellence in Community Service for his efforts to preserve and local history.
Panian serves as a Mesa Consolidated Water District trustee and has been on the Costa Mesa Historical Society’s board of directors for 18 years. He is considered an expert on California water history and the contributions of Hispanic California to the American Revolution.
Founded in 1890, the Daughters of the American Revolution is a nationwide organization that preserves the history of those who fought for American independence.
