An Angel at My Table (Bravo Sunday at midnight and Monday at noon), Jane Campion’s 1990 film, is based on the autobiography of New Zealand writer Janet Frame: from Depression poverty through European literary life and international fame. It’s a supremely clear-eyed, delightfully detailed and complex look at the conflict between non-mainstream artists and the society around them.
