AGUA DULCE — An argument between a man and woman turned deadly Saturday night, when a second man intervened and stabbed the arguing man to death, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department officials said Sunday.
Santa Clarita sheriff’s deputies, a helicopter crew and canine unit searched for the suspect, who fled into the hills surrounding a residence in the 15100 block of Sierra Highway, where the stabbing took place. The search ended after two hours without locating the suspect, Deputy Bob Killeen said.
The victim was not identified pending notification of relatives. Sheriff’s officials said he was stabbed just before 8 p.m. by an acquaintance who got in the middle of a fight between the victim and the victim’s girlfriend.
Killeen said he had no information on what the argument was about or why the suspect, who was also not named, intervened.
The victim was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia, where he was pronounced dead from his wounds, Killeen said.
