Nature Is Big Shot at Irvine Imax Festival

IRVINE — See life-size whales without the smell, during the Big Imax Film Festival, a monthlong affair starting Friday at the Edwards 21 Megaplex.
All nine of the fest’s films will be shown daily in 2-D or 3-D on the theater’s 6 1/2-story-tall Imax screen. All but “Into the Deep,” “L5: First City in Space” and “The Living Sea” are Orange County premieres.

Here is the schedule films with show times daily, through May 8, except April 21:

* “Whales,” 11:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.

* “Yellowstone,” 2.
* “Hidden Hawaii,” 3:15.
* “Niagara: Miracles, Myths and Magic,” 4:30.
* “The Eruption of Mount St. Helens,” 5:45.
* “L5: First City in Space” (3-D), 8:15 and 10:45.
* “The Living Sea,” 9:30.
