Kristen Thompson of Canyon High has accepted an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy, where she will play soccer, according to former Comanche coach Matt Kinney.
Thompson was a three-time All-Century League player.

Dan Harrington, an outside hitter at Esperanza High, has signed to play volleyball at Loyola Marymount, according to Aztec Coach Kurt Kersten.
Harrington, 6 feet 3, was selected first-team All-Sunset League this season.

Vanessa Valenzuela, a two-time All-Empire League player at Katella, signed a letter of intent Tuesday to play softball at Fresno State.
Valenzuela, a first baseman, is batting .285 with two home runs and six RBIs for the Knights.

Bob Dukus, who coached the Newport Harbor girls’ basketball team to a 34-23 record the past two seasons, has resigned.
