COACH OF THE YEAR: Jose Valle, Burroughs.

What he couldn’t do as a player, Valle this season accomplished as a coach. He brought home a league baseball championship to his alma mater. Burroughs, which finished a game up on perennial power Hart, won the Foothill League with a record of 13-2. The Indians’ last league baseball championship had been won in 1957. Overall, Burroughs finished 19-8 and advanced to the second round of the Southern Section Division III playoffs before losing to Chaminade, the region’s top-ranked team.
