LANCASTER — Three armed men robbed a branch of the Bank of America about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, FBI agents and sheriff’s deputies said.
No shots were fired and no one was injured, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said.
The three robbers entered the bank in the 1000 block of West Avenue K shortly after 2 p.m. One of the men was carrying what FBI agents believe was a semiautomatic rifle, which he pointed at bank employees while the other two, carrying handguns, jumped the teller counter and began looting the cash drawers, said FBI Supervisor Gary Auer.
They fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, Auer said, and were last seen driving south on 10th Street West. To date this year, there have been nine bank robberies in the Antelope Valley, compared to 12 for all of last year, Auer said.
