A worker at a Santa Fe Springs factory was crushed to death after falling into a lathe late Thursday, Whittier police said Friday.
The metal-trimming machine was spinning when the worker, whose name was not released, apparently slipped into it, Lt. Dan Petropulos said. The man was alone at his station at the time of the accident, Petropulos said.
Cal/OSHA officials were investigating the 9:09 p.m. accident at Lefiell Manufacturing.
