Bullfrog update--The Bullfrogs are still seething about forfeiting Thursday’s game at Sacramento’s new outdoor arena because of poor floor conditions and they have asked Roller Hockey International to review the incident. The return of all-time leading scorer and team captain Victor Gervais tonight should cheer them up. Gervais has been recovering from a knee injury and has decided to return to the club rather than play for a German ice hockey team. Coach Brad McCaughey will have to release a player to make room for Gervais. Glenn Stewart got off to a slow start, but he set a club record with eight points (two goals, six assists) in last Sunday’s 12-7 victory over Sacramento.
Viper update--St. Louis has been one of the most consistent clubs in the league. The Bullfrogs won the first meeting, 9-6, at the Pond, but St. Louis was without veteran goaltender Mark Cavallin. He is expected to play tonight. Cavallin has a two-game winning streak and has made 64 saves and allowed 11 goals. Frank Cirone leads the Vipers in scoring with five goals and seven assists and Kevin Plager has managed five goals and five assists.
