Prizes to Be Awarded at Poetry Contest

Poets may compete in the sixth Performance Poetry Contest on Tuesday at the Gypsy Den Cafe & Reading Room.
The contest, sponsored by Rancho Santiago College’s Live Poets Society, will begin at 8 p.m. Those who want to compete should arrive at 6:30 p.m. to sign up. The entry fee is $4.
Each contestants will have as long as five minutes to recite poetry. Judging will be based on content, technique and timeliness.
Winners will receive $35 for first prize; $20 for second and $10 for third.
