Heroin Found on Jet Arriving From U.S.

A U.S. passenger jet arriving from Miami was impounded in Cali after police found nearly seven ounces of heroin stashed beneath the armrest of a passenger seat, authorities said. The crew and passengers had already left the American Airlines jet at Alfonso Bonilla Aragon Airport when the heroin was discovered at seat 29 A. Police speculated that the heroin may have been stashed aboard the plane during a previous flight from Cali to Miami by someone who decided not to risk carrying it through U.S. Customs. American Airlines representatives in Bogota, the capital, declined to comment.
