Bailey Reaches Milestone

Senior guard Toby Bailey, who has not missed a game in his college career, will play in his 100th consecutive game Saturday at the Pond of Anaheim when No. 15 UCLA faces No. 8 New Mexico in the Wooden Classic.
“I just don’t like to leave my team empty-handed,” said Bailey, who bruised his shoulder and lower back against North Carolina on Thanksgiving, but played 21 minutes the next day against Alaska Anchorage.
“Especially when I knew they needed me, with Kris [Johnson] and Jelani [McCoy] out. I had to play.”
For Bailey to have a chance at breaking Mitchell Butler’s Bruin record of 130 games played (out of a possible 131 from the 1989-90 season through 1992-93), UCLA would have to play at least four postseason games.
