Before Xavier Llongueras was born, making mosaics--tiling the top of the patio umbrella table, creating a coffee table or wall plaque--was a do-it-yourself endeavor that many Southern Californians enjoyed (“Chip Chic,” SoCal Style, Oct. 19). Perhaps the lovely designs in “Chip Chic” will be an inspiration to get out those old tile-cutters, or at least look more fondly at the table grandma made.
