Jeannette E. Rockefeller; Former First Lady of Arkansas

Jeannette Edris Rockefeller, 79, a former first lady of Arkansas. She was married to the late Arkansas Republican Gov. Winthrop Rockefeller and was the stepmother of current Arkansas Lt. Gov. Winthrop Paul Rockefeller. President Clinton remembered her for “leading women into the mainstream of political and public life” and spearheading education and cultural projects through the Arkansas Arts Center. Rockefeller divorced the governor as he left office in 1971. He died in 1973. On Sunday in Palm Springs.
