‘Dark Backward’ Set for Sunset 5
“The Dark Backward,” Adam Rifkin’s 1991 film, screens tonight at midnight at Sunset 5. It follows the grungy existence of a pair of nerdy garbage collectors, the pathologically shy and totally humorless Marty (Judd Nelson) and his pal Gus (Bill Paxton), eager to break into show business. Marty is a stand-up comic going nowhere until he begins growing extra arms; Gus is an accordionist. James Caan, Rob Lowe and Wayne Newton are also in the film.
