Tutino, Harris Send Simi Valley to Lancaster Soccer Title

James Tutino and Chris Harris scored goals within a minute of each other in the second half to give Simi Valley High a 2-0 victory Saturday over Lancaster for the championship of the Lancaster boys’ soccer tournament.
Tutino scored on an assist from Tony Bova nine minutes into the second half and Harris’ unassisted goal came a minute later for Simi Valley (4-0).
Canyon 5, Mojave 2--Raul Chavez and Jimmy Giordano each scored two goals for the Cowboys (4-2) in the fifth-place game at the Lancaster tournament.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
Chaminade 3, Brentwood 0--Carlie Stokes, Jennifer Valentine and Mindy Wyatt scored for Chaminade (7-0) in an El Segundo tournament quarterfinal.
Ventura 2, Harvard-Westlake 1--Katy Atturio scored in a shootout for Ventura in the consolation quarterfinal of the South Torrance tournament.
WRESTLING
Charter Oak Dual Meet Tournament--Rio Mesa placed third among 10 teams with a 7-2 record. Caleb Bautista placed first at 103 pounds. Heavyweight Paul Almanza and Fred White (152) placed second.
Spikie Gonzalez (112), Carlos Anaya (130), and Rob Jenkenson (145) placed third.
