Kempton Leads SCC Past The Master’s, 88-63

Alana Kempton scored 19 points as Southern California College defeated The Master’s, 88-63, in a nonconference women’s basketball game Saturday at The Master’s. The Vanguards (8-4) shot 51% from the floor, including eight of 12 from the three-point line. Kempton had four three-pointers and three rebounds.
Elizabeth Hansell had a game-high 20 points for the Mustangs (5-6), who were limited to 28% shooting from the floor.
In other nonconference women’s basketball games:
Eastern Washington 55, CS Fullerton 51--Guard Kris Sigg had 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists for the visiting Titans (2-7), who shot 37% from the floor.
Guard Andrea Thieme had 17 points, two assists and two rebounds for the Titans, who led at the end of the first half, 29-24.
In nonconference men’s basketball:
San Diego 86, Concordia 56--Alex Parker and Brian Miles each scored 13 points to lead San Diego.
Kalim Scott, who made 10 of 15 shots, led Concordia (5-5) with 22 points. Joey Busch and Josh Giles each had 10 points.
In the Texas San Antonio women’s basketball tournament:
Texas San Antonio 54, UC Irvine 48--Rosie Smith and Joyce Howard each scored 11 points for host Texas San Antonio (8-2), which won the championship game.
