Police to Use Spanish in Classes for Public

The Buena Park Police Department is continuing its goal of educating the public on the inner workings of its department through a citizens police academy, and for the first time its January program will be conducted in Spanish.

The program is conducted three times each year; the next one is Jan. 7.

“Our goal is to better serve a large contingency of our community who are Spanish speaking,” said Chief Richard M. Tefank.

Students learn about law enforcement operations from police experts in areas of patrol operations, SWAT, K-9, narcotics, major crimes, traffic laws and other fields. Information: (714) 562-3901.
