“Should auld acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind?/ Should auld acquaintance be forgot and days of Auld Lang Syne?/ For Auld Lang Syne, my dear, for Auld Lang Syne,/We’ll take a cup of kindness yet, for Auld Lang Syne.”
*Where will you be singing this Scottish ode to the “good old days” this New Year’s? It will be the first day of the next-to-last year of the millennium. So don’t waste it. To steal a line from an old Carly Simon song, “These are the good old days.”
Or at least they will be someday.
