Jose E. Perez; Retired Saticoy Mechanic

Jose Escobedo Perez of Saticoy, a retired mechanic, died Monday at a local hospital following a brief illness. He was 64.
Perez was born March 18, 1933, in Jalisco, Mexico, and had lived in Ventura County for 36 years.
He was a mechanic for 45 years, retiring in 1990 from Sanbuenaventura Lemon in Saticoy, and he was a coach with the Saticoy Soccer Club.
Perez is survived by a daughter, Evangelina Perez of Saticoy; three brothers, Pedro, Raul and Valeriano, all of Mexico; three sisters, Juanita, Teresa and Amelia, all of Mexico; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacinta, in 1983, and brother Augustine earlier this year.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
