Ettore Berardinelli to Be Inaugurated as Fire Chief

Former Deputy Chief Ettore Berardinelli will be inaugurated as Santa Monica’s new fire chief July 15.
Berardinelli is taking over a department with low turnover, with many firemen working there 10 to 20 years, said Fire Department spokeswoman Roni Roseberg. “That translates into tremendous teamwork to go along with advanced fire equipment,” she said.
Richard Bridges, who had been chief since February, 1994, resigned to spend more time with his family, Roseberg said.
