Man Drowns in Swimming Pool

GRANADA HILLS — A 25-year-old man died at Granada Hills Community Hospital after he was found unconscious at the bottom of a swimming pool at a board-and-care home, authorities said.

Torunbo Onotade was found at 4:15 p.m. Saturday at the Eunice Home Center on Courbet Street and was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later, authorities with the Los Angeles Fire Department and the county coroner’s office said.

Onotade, an employee of another nearby board-and-care center, had brought a group of disabled adults to the pool at the Eunice Home Center, said Brian Humphrey, a Fire Department spokesman.

Witnesses told rescue workers that Onotade went into the pool and did not resurface, Humphrey said.
