Lost Blood Found in New Sheppard Case

Missing blood evidence from the Sam Sheppard murder case has resurfaced in California, raising hopes of clearing the late Cleveland doctor’s name. The material, held by a former student of a forensic scientist hired by the Sheppard family in the 1950s, includes two vials containing bloodstains taken from a wardrobe door in Marilyn Sheppard’s bedroom after she was slain, according to court papers. Sam Reese Sheppard, the couple’s son, is suing Ohio for wrongful imprisonment of his father. He believes the sample could show a DNA match with another man.
