A sports memorabilia auction and buffet to help buy 17-year-old Kevin Natale a new handicapped-accessible van will be held Sunday at McGinty’s Sports Bar and Restaurant, 1795 S. Victoria Ave., Ventura.
Items at the auction, to be held from 2 to 6 p.m., will include baseballs, golf balls, photos and jerseys signed by major professional athletes. There also will be music and a buffet.
The Ventura teen was the victim of an unprovoked shooting 3 1/2 years ago by an angry neighbor as he played video games in his living room with a friend. The crime left Kevin paralyzed from the chest down.
Tickets to the auction and buffet are $25 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and younger.
Tax-deductible donations also can be mailed to Wheels for Kevin, P.O. Box 7786, Ventura 93006. Donated sports memorabilia for the auction also will be accepted.
