Well, the new Sunset Beach Inn on New York’s Shelter Island (near the Hamptons) does have the same owner, Andre Balazs, as the Sunset Strip landmark hotel. He acquired and renovated an existing hotel and reopened it this month. Whether the intimate, 20-room inn will attract as many celebrities as the Chateau Marmont, remains to be seen. Whoever stays there will pay $125.35 to $299.75 per room, including taxes, depending on the season. The inn also has a French-brasserie style restaurant; tel. (516) 749-3000. Hotel reservations: tel.
