A $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the slaying of a Locke High School student will be announced today at a Los Angeles Police Department news conference.
Rudolfo Perez, 18, was last seen on May 2 about 4:30 p.m. after getting off a school bus near Martin Luther King Jr. Park at Hobart Boulevard and Leighton Avenue in Southwest Los Angeles, police said. The next day, his body was found in an alley near Olympic Boulevard and Normandie Avenue, investigators said.
“All I can say is that he was a good kid,” said Det. Juan Gutierrez, the lead investigator on the case. “He went to school every day. He was on time coming home every day. When he didn’t show up on time, his parents called the police right away because it was out of character. It’s sad.”
Anyone with information should call Gutierrez or Det. Chris Schaper at (213) 847-3990.
