Medical Center to Hold Family Health Fair

More than 5,000 people are expected to attend the third annual Family Health Fair today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Queen of Angels-Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, 1300 N. Vermont Ave.
“This event is a wonderful exchange with the community,” said Melinda Kelly of the Junior League of Los Angeles, co-organizer of the event. “More and more people are coming every year to the health fair. The thing I love most about the event is that all these kind people give up their day off to volunteer and work with kids. Maybe the next time the children have to go to the doctor, it won’t be so terrible.”
The fair will include immunizations for children, body fat analysis, blood pressure checks, cholesterol screenings, pregnancy tests, vision screenings, nutrition tips, prenatal care and cancer prevention information. A petting zoo and magicians will provide entertainment for children.
